Achtung Bitte...

Well after a longer-than-it-was-supposed-to-be layover in Frankfurt and 12 hours of people speaking German to me, I am now safe and sound in Italian speaking Torino.

It's been a mess trying to get everything together here. There was confusion with my room, took forever to find the accreditation office, got kicked out of the IOC office because they said I wasn't supposed to be there, but I was...it was the office I needed, the guy just didn't know it. Then when I got back I found a puddle in my room because I turned the heat off. Throw in the language barrier and you have an adventure.

Internet access at the media village is €15/Day or €40/week. Yikes! And you can only pay with official Olympic sponsor, Visa.

Hopefully tomorrow is better...maybe a beer and some sleep.

Ciao.

Good to hear that you made it to Turin/Torino safe and sound.

It's outrageous that net access is so expensive. Did you bring the laptop? Can you poach wifi?

Keep the tales coming...

Cheers!

Doug

Hey Mike:

Glad you made it to the Land of Pizza. Hopefully you'll be able to open this link. It seems that Wayne Gretzky's wife is being investigated in a alleged gambling investigation.
